This picture is basically a science fiction study. It was originally intended as a backdrop for a much more surreal artwork. but that picture fell through (through no fault of mine I might add!) and, after I had sulked for a few days, I realized that it was actually worth keeping as an image in it's own right. So i spiced up the planet a bit - added a few extra details. But not much. After all - it was already quite an unusual planet.

It might just be apparent that it is constructed, not out of a nasa image, but out of human skin. But nobody at all is going to realize that it was actually a single human buttock, cut out and covered with gravel and with huge great craters painted on it! I love invisible details like that!

It might almost have been a book cover, and for I time I did consider somehow turning it into a 'legitimate' science fiction cover - but as i created it independently I included it here instead as my first standalone artwork.
